(Nederlandse tekst, zie onderaan) Contraindications for cryotherapy: - Pregnancy - Moderately or severely elevated blood pressure (blood pressure above 180/100 mmHg) - An acute heart attack, or a heart attack within the past 6 months - Unstable angina pectoris: chest pain that occurs without direct cause and will not simply cease by itself (imminent heart attack) - Cardiac arrhythmias - Cardiovascular diseases in which symptoms are present - A pacemaker - Intermittent claudication (also called peripheral arterial disease) - Venous thrombosis: a blood clot in the veins - Acute cerebral haemorrhage or a stroke in the past - Epileptic seizures - Raynaud’s phenomenon - Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome - Fever - Cancer - Lung conditions in which symptoms are present - Bleeding disorders - Severe anaemia - Claustrophobia (fear of small or confined spaces) - Cold allergy - Under 18 years old (parental consent required) - Acute kidney diseases and acute disorders of the urinary tract - Under the influence of drugs or alcohol Contra indicaties voor cryotherapie: - zwangerschap - matig of ernstig verhoogde bloeddruk (bloeddruk hoger dan 180/100 mmHg) - acuut hartinfarct of een hartinfarct in de afgelopen 6 maanden - instabiele angina pectoris: hartkramp die optreedt zonder directe aanleiding en niet vanzelf overgaat (dreigend hartinfarct) - hartritmestoornissen - hart- en vaatziekten waarbij ziekteverschijnselen aanwezig zijn - reversibele cerebrale vasoconstrictiesyndroom - een pacemaker - etalagebenen (ook wel perifeer vaatlijden of claudicatio intermittens genoemd) - veneuze trombose: bloedstolsel in de aderen - acute hersenbloeding of een hersenbloeding in het verleden - epileptische aanvallen - fenomeen van Raynaud - koorts - kanker - longaandoeningen waarbij ziekteverschijnselen aanwezig zijn - bloedingsstoornissen - ernstige bloedarmoede - claustrofobie (angst voor kleine of afgesloten ruimte) - koudeallergie - jonger dan 18 jaar (toestemming van de ouders nodig) - acute nieraandoeningen en acute aandoeningen van de urinewegen - onder invloed van alcohol of drugs
